WEIMAR MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUGS DURING LATE NIGHT TRAFFIC STOP
A late-night traffic stop led to a drug arrest in Fayette County.
Sgt. Ryan Meagher of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation on a white, 2011 Infiniti G37X.
The stop was made around 11pm last (Friday) night on Highway 71 near the intersection with Loop 220.
Sgt. Meagher conducted a search of the vehicle, and located cocaine that was concealed inside the dashboard behind the car radio.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, 38-year-old Erick Mendez-Morales of Weimar was taken into custody.
He was transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center in La Grange, where he was booked on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
