FOUR WEEKEND CALLS, ONE EARLY MONDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department had five combined calls between Saturday and early this (Monday) morning.

Just after 10:30 a.m. Saturday, the department responded to a home in the 1800 block of Pecan Circle Drive for a report of a gas leak.  Firefighters and the City of Brenham Gas Department arrived to find a small gas leak outside, but no gas was found inside the home.  The fire department cleared the scene.

At 2 p.m., units were called out to a transportation incident in the 1500 block of South Market Street.  They arrived to find a three-vehicle accident with no fluids leaking.  The vehicles were moved to a parking lot, and firefighters returned to service.

Approaching 7:15 p.m., BFD members received a report of a carbon monoxide detector sounding at Schlotzsky’s, 2606 Highway 36 South.  When they arrived, they found a small amount of carbon monoxide inside the building, which was the result of a leak on the lines going to the soda machine.  The system was turned off and the building was ventilated.

At 11:15 a.m. Sunday, firefighters went out to the Brenham State Supported Living Center, 4001 Highway 36 South, for an alarm sounding.  They made location and discovered the building was under construction.  After walking the building, they found no signs of smoke or fire, so they reset the alarm and returned to the station.

Shortly after 1:15 a.m. today, the department was dispatched to a home in the 300 block of Clayton Drive for a report of a gas leak.  Firefighters and the gas department found nothing showing from the exterior, but eventually found a small leak inside by the water heater.  The fire department returned to service.
