IOLA RALLIED IN 7TH TO GIVE LADY PANTHERS A DISTRICT LOSS

Bailey Glaesmann (Mark Whitehead)

The Burton Lady Panther Softball Team lost a heartbreaker at home last (Tuesday) night 6-3 to the Iola Lady Bulldogs.

Burton got on the board when Iola had trouble finding the strike zone in the bottom of the first inning. Kalli Pohl, Amaya Williams, and Bailey Glaesmann drew three straight walks to load the bases. Aerynn Huntsman drew the fourth walk of the inning to score Pohl with the first run of the game, and Burton led 1-0.

In the bottom of the second inning, Kelsi Hohlt drew a walk, and then stole second. Two batters later, Pohl singled home Hohlt with a run to make it 2-0 Lady Panthers.
