WASHINGTON CO. APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD TO VOTE ON 2024-25 BUDGET

The Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors will hold a public hearing and vote on Tuesday for the appraisal district’s 2024-25 budget.

The board held workshops at its two previous meetings to discuss the proposed budget of $1.68 million, which is $55,755 more than the current adopted budget.

The increase is due to an extra $38,000 in personnel costs, $16,255 in added professional and contracted services, and $1,500 in other operating costs.

The budget public hearing and adoption will be the only non-consent agenda item listed for board action.  Following action, board members will hear monthly reports.

The board will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the appraisal district office, 1301 Niebuhr Street in Brenham.

The Washington County Appraisal District and Consolidated Tax Collections of Washington County office will be closed on Wednesday.  The office closes for one full day of training each year in anticipation of the property value protest season.
