BURTON HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCES TOP GRADUATES

Burton High School has named the leading graduates of the Class of 2024.

Receiving valedictorian honors is Zane Ryan Aschenbeck, with a grade point average of 3.99.

Zane is the son of Mr. Ryan Aschenbeck and Ms. Stacy Aschenbeck.  He will be pursuing an engineering degree at Texas A&M University.

The salutatorian is Noelia Anita Casas, whose GPA is 3.90. 

Noelia is the daughter of Mr. Narciso Casas and Ms. Veronica Casas.  She will attend Blinn College and then transfer to Texas A&M, where she will study health science with plans to become a doctor.

Thirty-one students are graduating this year, including 13 honor graduates.  Along with Aschenbeck and Casas, honor students are:

  • Patrick Clemons Tavary, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Tavary
  • Katy Lynn Whitfield, daughter of Mr. Clay Whitfield and Ms. Cathy Pribilski
  • John Walter Brode, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Brode
  • Grayson Robert Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Brown
  • Madelyn Ann Dixon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jared Dixon
  • Allison Makenzie Biggs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Biggs
  • Andre Kalim Ortiz, son of Ms. Isabel Gomez
  • Makenzi Jo Sullivan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Sullivan
  • Trinity Logan Pope, nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Justin Rhodes
  • Jynisha Lanae Randle, daughter of the late Ms. Charlene Patterson and Mr. Johnnie Randle
  • Justin Keith Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jodee Walker

Burton High School’s graduation ceremony will be held on Friday, May 24th at 8 p.m. at the Burton Cotton Gin Pavilion.

  1. So sad that graduation cannot be held on the new football field. Seems this project will never get completed on budget by the present construction manager.

    1. These things take time.
      I find it amazing how many people are so quick to complain and make judgements, but have no real idea how a large job site with many different parts actually gets completed. Or all that can change or go wrong at many different points.
      It will be done. It will be just fine.
      I am sure the seniors will be able to overcome not being on the feild. Relax, it will be sooner than you think.
