BURLESON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS LEARN OF UPCOMING TXDOT PROJECTS

  

The Burleson County Commissioners Court discussed some planned TxDOT road improvement projects at their meeting this past Tuesday.

The planned projects will be happening over the course of the next two years.

Burleson County Judge Keith Schroeder told the commissioners that the first of those projects will be placing a traffic signal at the intersection of FM 50 and FM 60 in 2025.

Schroeder called it a dangerous intersection, and cited the numerous traffic accidents, fatalities, and near fatalities that have occurred at that location over the years.

TxDOT is also planning four bridge replacements in 2026. The replacement locations include County Road 310 at Davidson Creek, County Road 344 at Deep Creek, FM 2039 at Porter Creek, and FM 2039 at Jones Creek.  

Another planned item for 2026 is to upgrade the Union Pacific underpass on FM 60, two-tenths of a mile Northwest of FM 111 in Deanville.

In addition to that, there are going to be turning lane improvements along Highway 36 from FM 60 to Highway 21.
