DRUG RAIDS IN WALLER COUNTY LEAD TO SEVEN ARRESTS
Seven people were taken into custody following joint efforts of two multi-county law enforcement agencies.
During an extensive investigation, the Westside Narcotics Task Force received information of drugs being distributed at multiple locations in Brookshire including several residences and a business.
The Task Force was joined by the Austin County Special Response Team in executing multiple search and arrests warrants over the past week.
During the raids, Officers seized cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine, and U.S. currency. They also recovered stolen items including a truck, a skid steer, and firearms.
Those arrested included: 37-year-old Ivan Barrura, 42-year-old Melesio Oviedo, 53-year-old Sonny Baker, 47-year-old Jonte Grant, 37-year-old Curte Bailey, 46-year-old Antoinette Stewart, and 38-year-old Glenn Evans.
The defendants were all booked into the Waller County Jail in Hempstead without incident.
They were charged multiple felonies including Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, as well as Possession of a Controlled Substance. More charges on the defendants are pending the outcome of a further investigation.
The Narcotics Task Force and the Special Response Team thanked the Waller County Sheriff’s Office Patrol, K-9, and Drone divisions, who assisted with the arrest and search warrant operations.
