CITIZENS STATE BANK LAUNCHES COMMUNITY FOOD & SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE

Citizens State Bank has kicked off its annual “Community Deposits: Food & School Supply Drive” initiative.

The month-long program is aimed at collecting food and school supply items to help local families prepare for the upcoming school year and support area food pantries.

The drive is underway through August 5th, with donation bins available in the lobbies of all Citizens State Bank locations in Somerville, Deanville, Caldwell, Snook, Brenham, Burton and Navasota.

Community members are encouraged to donate new school supplies like pencils, pens, scissors, glue sticks, binders, folders, colored pencils, markers, crayons, backpacks and lunch kits.  Non-perishable food items are also being accepted, including canned fruits and vegetables, soup, peanut butter, pasta, rice, cereal, oatmeal, boxed meals, canned tuna, canned chicken and other shelf-stable foods.

All donations will benefit local school districts and food pantries serving communities throughout Burleson, Washington and Grimes counties.

Citizens State Bank says the campaign serves as an opportunity for the community to come together to help families put food on the table and ensure students have what they need to succeed in the classroom.

Throughout the campaign, each branch will work toward individual collection goals while contributing to the bank-wide goal of 2,000 items.  If the bank reaches its 2,000-item goal, it will donate another $1,000 to local back-to-school and food assistance organizations, in addition to its annual community giving efforts.
