BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO FOUR ADDITIONAL CALLS FRIDAY-SATURDAY
In addition to the Fire at Dollar General in Somerville on Friday night, the Brenham Fire Department responded to four other calls during the day Friday and early this (Saturday) morning.
BFD personnel were dispatched to the 1300 Block of Loesch Street at 7:45am Friday for a report of an electric pole sparking. They arrived on location to find the pole sparking. BFD members stood by until the City of Brenham Electric Department could arrive on the scene.
At 2:40pm, the Brenham Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of East Blue Bell Road, and Old Independence Road for a reported transportation incident. They found a two-vehicle accident. BFD Members checked for injuries, but no one was hurt. BFD members provided traffic control until both vehicles were removed from the roadway.
Then, just before 4pm, Brenham Firefighters were dispatched to the Walgreens parking lot at 2400 Block of South Day Street for a report of a vehicle vs. bicycle accident. The Washington County EMS was already on the scene helping the patient, and no fluids were leaking. They returned to service after the roadway was back open.
The final call came in this (Saturday) morning just after 6am. BFD Personnel were sent to the Motel 6 at 555 Highway 290 West. They arrived on location to find nothing showing from the exterior of the building. After checking out Room 212, they found no signs of smoke or fire in that area. So, Brenham Firefighters returned to service.
