BRENHAM POLICE REPORT ARRESTS FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, DWI

  

Brenham police reported an arrest on Thursday for driving while intoxicated and another arrest early this (Friday) morning for aggravated assault.

At 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Officer LeDarion Jenkins responded to the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and Burleson Street in reference to a vehicle that had crashed into a building.  During the investigation, police state that 20-year-old Manuel Isaiah Avila Galindo of Brenham was found to be intoxicated.  Galindo was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was booked for Driving While Intoxicated.

Around 2:15 a.m. today, Officer Jenkins, Officer Darrell Nunn Jr. and K9 Sergeant Jimmy Ha responded to the 700 block of Pleasantview Avenue in reference to a welfare concern.  According to police, their investigation revealed that 37-year-old Derrell Johnson of Brenham had allegedly assaulted two individuals.  Police say Johnson was taken into custody for two counts of Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury.  He was transported to the Washington County Jail.
