MAN ARMED WITH BUTCHER KNIFE ARRESTED AFTER CONFRONTATION WITH BRENHAM POLICE
A California man faces numerous charges in Brenham after being accused of making threats toward police officers while walking on the side of the highway with a knife.
Just past 8 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 800 block of Highway 290 East in reference to a suspicious person armed with a butcher knife on the side of the roadway.
Police say the subject, 40-year-old Roderick Daryl Jamaal Whiter-Ssinoh of Antioch, California, threatened officers and refused commands.
Whiter-Ssinoh was ultimately taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was charged with Evading Arrest or Detention, Failure to Identify, Resisting Arrest/Search/Transport, Terroristic Threat Against a Peace Officer, and Walking on the Highway with Traffic.
Police say no one was injured during the incident.
