LAW ENFORCEMENT RAID RESULTS IN TWO ARRESTS

An early morning raid by the Austin County Regional Special Response Team landed two people behind bars on multiple drug charges.

The Special Response Team executed arrest and search warrants around 5am Monday at a motel located in the 500 Block of Koomey Street in Brookshire.

The operation was the result of an ongoing narcotics investigation by members of the Westside Narcotics Task Force.

The Task Force had been investigating reports of narcotics being distributed from the motel.

Authorities seized methamphetamine, cocaine, oxycodone, Xanax and Adderall during the operation.

The suspects, 48-year-old Marcus Grant and 42-year-old Latoya Johnson, were taken into custody and booked into the Waller County Jail without incident.

The Waller County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the arrest and search warrant operation.

Grant was charged with a warrant for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, and Possession of a Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility.

He and Johnson were both charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1, Penalty Group 2, and Penalty Group 3.

As of this (Wednesday) morning, both remain in the Waller County Jail.
