LOCAL OFFICE CLOSURES MONDAY FOR BERYL

  

Some offices and facilities in Washington County have announced closures on Monday for Tropical Storm Beryl, which is anticipated to make landfall Monday morning as a hurricane.

All Washington County offices will close on Monday.

City of Brenham offices and operations will be open and running during normal hours, though Brenham Animal Services, the Blue Bell Aquatic Center and the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library will remain closed after initially being scheduled to open at noon. 

BVR will not run residential sanitation/recycling or commercial front-load routes in Brenham on Monday. All routes will be pushed back one day. The Collection/Transfer Station will be closed on Monday, and the once-per-week commercial cart route on Tuesday will get picked up on Wednesday.

All Brenham ISD offices are closed on Monday, and all student activities are cancelled.

Burton ISD has cancelled athletic workouts for Monday.

All Blinn College campuses are closed and all classes are cancelled on Monday.  Brenham Campus food services will be open to support campus residents.  All campuses will re-open for regular operations on Tuesday.

First Baptist Church School and Early Education Center will be closed on Monday.

The Margaret E. Blizzard Senior Activity Center in Brenham will be closed on Monday.

  1. Washington county offices again show more common sense than the other local governing agency. The other governing agency needs to take lessons from Washington county, they could learn how to save tax dollars, maintain roads better, have the same retirement program at 7 percent instead of just puny 5 percent program, Washington county even has insurance for retirees. Yes, the Washington county cares about safety, and appreciates their employees. This news report is a prime example of who cares and who does not care.
