VAN HOOK NAMED NEW BRENHAM CROSS COUNTRY HEAD COACH

Olivia Van Hook (Brenham ISD)

Brenham ISD did not have to look very far to find the next person to take over their Cross Country program.

The district announced on their Facebook page this (Wednesday) morning that Olivia Van Hook has been named as the new Cross Country Head Coach.

Van Hook is a 2013 graduate of Brenham High School, where she was a four-year varsity athlete in volleyball and softball, including being on the 2009 and 2010 state runner-up volleyball teams.

After high school, Coach Van Hook continued her athletic career by playing softball at St. Mary’s University. She holds both a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.

Prior to returning to Brenham ISD, she served as the Assistant Softball Coach and Athletic Facilities Director under former Cubette Head Coach Wade Wilson at Texas Lutheran University. During her time there, they won the 2019 NCAA Division III National Championship.

Coach Van Hook is excited to begin a new adventure with the Brenham Cross Country Team.

In accepting the new role, she said, "As a member of the Van Hook family, coaching is a cherished tradition, and I’m honored to carry forward the legacy and passion for education my mom instilled. With deep Cub pride, I’m excited to contribute to Brenham’s continued success."

For the last few years, Van Hook had been an assistant coach for both the Cubette Volleyball and Softball programs. However, with her new position, she will no longer be assisting with volleyball, but she is going to continue with softball in the Spring.
