CUBETTES WIN THREE ON OPENING DAY OF WALLER TOURNAMENT
The Brenham Cubettes Volleyball Team opened the Waller Tournament with three victories yesterday (Thursday).
In the opening match, Brenham beat Klein Oak 2-1. Klein Oak won the first set 25-21, but the Cubettes came back to win the next two sets 25-23 and 25-17. Aubrey Morrison had 15 kills and 10 digs. Brinley Benson dished out 20 assists, while Jordan Graham added 11 assists. Zoe Zwerneman chipped in with five aces, while Lainie Bolcerek finished with four aces. Logan Hayslip had 8 digs.
Brenham then swept Leon in two straight sets, 26-24 and 25-20. Morrison led the offense with 13 kills, and she had seven digs on defense as well. Hayslip had 12 digs. Benson dished out 12 assists, while Graham had 10 assists.
In the final matchup of the day, Brenham swept Cy Ridge 2-0, 25-13 and 25-14. Morrison finished with 10 kills and 9 digs. Shelbey Cross added 9 digs. Benson chipped in with 21 assists.
Next up, the Cubettes will have three more matches at the tournament later today (Friday). They will play the Waller JV at 2pm, Riesel at 4pm, and then a have crossover match at 5 or 6pm.
