DEADLINE MONDAY TO REGISTER TO VOTE IN GENERAL ELECTION

Voters have until Monday to register to participate in November’s General Election.

Washington County Elections Administrator Carol Jackson says it is her office’s intent to ensure that all those who are eligible and want to make their voices heard in this presidential election are registered to vote.  She says, “We are prepared to serve as many voters as will come.”

Voter registration information is available by visiting the Elections Office in the Washington County Courthouse, calling 979-277-6264 or going to www.votetexas.gov.  Registered voters can check their status on the Secretary of State’s My Voter Portal website.

To be eligible, a voter must be a United States citizen, a resident of the county where they register, and at least 18 years old on Election Day.

All voters must be registered at least 30 days before an election date.  Voters do not have to declare a party affiliation when registering.

Early voting opens on Monday, October 21st, and the last day to apply for a ballot by mail is Friday, October 25th.  Early voting concludes on Friday, November 1st.  Election Day is Tuesday, November 5th
