BUCS SEASON ENDS WITH 19-11 LOSS TO CISCO
Story by Joe Alberico, Blinn College Sports Information
In its final shot at postseason qualification, the Blinn College football team fell short Saturday, succumbing to Cisco College 19-11 in both teams' regular-season finale at Cub Stadium in Brenham, Texas.
The Southwest Junior College Football Conference loss wrapped up the Buccaneers' season at 4-5 overall and 2-5 in conference play.
Entering the game, Blinn needed to win by a margin of four or more points to earn the fourth seed in the SWJCFC playoffs. Instead, the Wranglers fended off the Bucs to secure the final berth.
Following a defensive shutout in the first quarter, Blinn opened the scoring on a 35-yard field goal from freshman kicker Cameron Noto in the opening minute of the second.

A Bucs fumble midway through the second quarter gave Cisco possession deep in Blinn territory, and the Wranglers capitalized with a 1-yard rushing touchdown. Though Cisco's 2-point conversion attempt failed, it pulled ahead for good at 6-3.
Near the 2-minute mark of the first half, the Wranglers added a short touchdown run to make it 13-3.
In the second half, Cisco tacked on a pair of field goals.
The Bucs scored their lone TD of the game late in the fourth quarter on a 27-yard pass from sophomore quarterback Rylan Wooten to sophomore wide receiver Nathan Lewis. Wooten added a 2-point conversion on a keeper into the end zone.
Cisco ran out the clock on its final possession of the game to end it.
