SUSPECT IN GRIMES CO. STABBING TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
A man accused of stabbing two people in Grimes County has been taken into custody.
The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office said early this (Monday) morning that Elpidio DeLeon Gonzalez had been located by the Texas Department of Public Safety in Corpus Christi.
The sheriff’s office was called out around 6:30 p.m. Sunday to an area with mobile homes behind the Shiro Grocery Store. Two victims, one male and one female, suffered serious injuries and were flown to Memorial Hermann in Houston.
The identity of the victims was not released. However, the Navasota Examiner reports that the suspect was previously in a relationship with the female victim, who was at the home of her new boyfriend and his mother.
Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell told the Examiner that the suspect forced entry into the residence and attacked the victims with a machete before fleeing the scene.
Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is asked to contact the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office at 936-873-2151.
