FOUR BELLVILLE ATHLETES TAKE PART IN SIGNING DAY
Three Bellville Brahma football players and one Bellville Brahmanette volleyball player signed their letters of intent on Wednesday during the early signing day.
After verbally committing to them back in August, DL D.J. Sanders made it official by signing with Texas A&M. Sanders has been on the Varsity for all four seasons at Bellville.
This past season, he had 72 tackles, nine tackles for loss, seven sacks, and 13 QB hurries. His biggest season came during his junior year during the Brahmas' run to the State Championship game. That season, Sanders posted 115 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, and 26 QB hurries.
RB D.D. Murray is going to be heading to Arkansas State. As a senior, he carried the ball 167 times for 1,289 yards and 21 touchdowns. Like with Sanders, Murray's biggest year was as a junior. During that season, he carried the ball 188 times for 2,072 yards and 36 touchdowns.
DE D'Ante Keys is heading to Texas State after having his biggest season for Bellville. As a senior, Keys took part in 100 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, six sacks, and seven QB hurries.
L/DS Sydney McKay will be going to High Point University in North Carolina. McKay has been an All-District and All-State selection for the Brahmanettes. They have made the State Tournament in each of her four years at Bellville.
This past season, she helped lead the Brahmanettes to the State Championship game. While they didn't win it, they still finished with an impressive 44-6 record.
