MISTI HARTSTACK CORN HOLDS FIRST MEETING AS NEW WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONER
At their first regular meeting of 2025, Washington County Commissioners welcomed their newest member.
Misti Hartstack Corn took her seat today (Tuesday) as the new Precinct 1 Commissioner. She fills the role of Don Koester, who had served in the position since 2017. Hartstack Corn defeated Koester in the March 2024 primary election and did not have an opponent come November.
Hartstack Corn said this day has been “a long time coming” and is ready for what is in store.
Hartstack Corn is the owner of a small business, The Mason Jar Mama, and was formerly a program manager at Texas A&M University.
Today’s commissioners court meeting was very brief, with only a few items to review. The court first discussed a notice for the reappointment of County Auditor Shawna Hollis and approved her bond. It then approved a contract with attorney Scott Ballard to represent indigent defendants in the county. Commissioners closed out the meeting with the routine approval of accounts payable.
