MINOR ACCIDENT, TWO FALSE ALARMS FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. BETWEEN FRIDAY, EARLY SATURDAY

The Brenham Fire Department was called out twice on Friday and once early this (Saturday) morning.

Just before 9 a.m. Friday, firefighters responded to a fire alarm at Stanpac USA, 801 Mangrum Street.  Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building when they arrived, and they found that a coffee pot caused the smoke detector to activate.  The alarm was reset, and the department returned to service.

At 6:15 p.m., units were dispatched to a transportation incident in the 1200 block of East Tom Green Street.  They found that a box truck ran into a phone cable, ripping it down.  BFD members made sure it was a phone cable and found no fluids leaking.

Around 2:15 a.m. today, the department received a report of an alarm at the Brenham State Supported Living Center, 4001 Highway 36 South.  Firefighters did not see anything showing from the outside of the building, and they ultimately found that a pull station had been accidentally pulled, so they reset the alarm.
