Burleson County Sheriff Gene Hermes has passed away.
The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office announced on Saturday that Hermes died peacefully after a battle with cancer.
Hermes served for decades with the sheriff’s offices of Burleson County and Lee County. He was first elected as the sheriff of Burleson County in March 2020.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
