WASHINGTON COUNTY ADVANCES TO MINOR SOFTBALL STATE FINAL
After suffering their first loss of the minor softball state tournament to Industrial, Washington County bounced back in dominant fashion to earn a rematch in the championship round.
Washington County opened the tournament with a commanding 12-0 win over East End, advancing to face Industrial in Round 2. In a tightly contested defensive battle, they were held hitless and fell 4-0, dropping them into the elimination bracket.
Facing East End once again, Washington County showed no signs of slowing down. They overwhelmed their opponent with an 18-3 run-rule victory in just three innings. The offense erupted for 18 runs, powered by five inside-the-park home runs—two from Teagyn Wilson and one each from Brylee Margist, Avery Meyer, and Addelyn Sebastian. Lillie Landua also added an RBI triple and was dominant in the circle, striking out nine batters.
With the win, Washington County advances to the tournament final, where they'll face Industrial in a winner-take-all rematch. They’ll need two victories to claim the state title.
