The event gave fair volunteers and contributors an opportunity to be recognized for their work in helping coordinate the county fair.  It also introduced the members of the 2025 fair queen court: Amirah Byrd, Haileigh Lange and Maddie Brumbelow.

Amirah Byrd is a senior at Brenham High School and is representing the Brenham Anchor Club.  She is the daughter of Sherika and Bennie Byrd, and the granddaughter of Demetria Patridge and Lyndon Mathis.  She says she and her family have a special connection with the fair, and that she is looking forward to sharing more about what the fair means to her.

Haileigh Lange is a senior at Brenham High School and is representing Washington County 4-H.  She is the daughter of Renee and the late John Lange, and the granddaughter of Victor and Dorothy Bartkowiak.  She says she honors the memory of her father through her hard work and dedication to the fair.

Maddie Brumbelow is a senior at Brenham High School and is representing Brenham High School Cheer. She is the daughter of Stacy and Ted Ferretti and Darren and Terri Brumbelow, and the granddaughter of Maxine and Chester Ruether and Gail and Bruce Brumbelow.  She says she is eager to embark on this experience with the other fair queen candidates and make lasting memories.

The fair queen is selected based on ticket sales, an oral interview and a written essay.  Candidates are eligible to win scholarships and prizes.  The fair queen will be crowned on Saturday, September 13th at 6 p.m. at the Washington County Expo Entertainment Pavilion.

Advance season passes are now on sale.  They can be purchased from the fair queen candidates or online at www.washingtoncofair.com.
