NEW PANTHERS STADIUM SEES FIRST ACTION ON THURSDAY
The Burton Panthers are set to begin the 2025 high school football season in a brand-new home, Panthers Stadium. After three years of playing every game on the road, the Panthers will finally return to home turf this Thursday, August 14, as they host the Navasota Rattlers for a preseason scrimmage at 6 p.m.
The newly completed, state-of-the-art facility marks a major milestone for the program. Head Coach Jason Hodde spoke on the Sports Line show Monday, August 11, expressing the team’s excitement to finally have a home-field advantage again. He emphasized the energy and pride it brings to both the players and the community.
Coming off back-to-back six-win seasons that each ended in first-round playoff exits, the Panthers are aiming to turn consistency into deeper postseason success this year. With eight starters returning on offense and seven on defense, Burton enters the season with experience and optimism. Coach Hodde also highlighted a talented junior class and promising underclassmen ready to contribute alongside the senior leaders.
Fans are encouraged to come out to Panthers Stadium this Thursday to catch their first look at the 2025 squad and celebrate the long-awaited debut of the team’s new home. Kickoff for the scrimmage against Navasota is set for 6 p.m.
