REGISTRATION OPENS MONDAY FOR SCARECROW EXTRAVAGANZA IN DOWNTOWN BRENHAM

  

Fall is not far around the corner, and that means Brenham will soon see scarecrows back in downtown.

Main Street Brenham is set to host its 22^nd Annual Scarecrow Extravaganza, where the public can decorate downtown with colorful scarecrows and have the opportunity to win cash prizes.

Over $1,400 in cash prizes will be awarded across nine categories, including the Best Overall prize of $300 sponsored by Tres Chic Boutique.  Other prize categories are:

• Most Votes for $200, sponsored by Youthology;
• Judges Choice for $200, sponsored by KTEX/KWHI;
• Best Fall Theme for $125, sponsored by Bluebonnet Abstract and Title;
• Most Creative for $125, sponsored by The Laundry Event Hall;
• Most Educational for $125, sponsored by Christy Schlottmann Farmers Insurance;
• Silliest for $125, sponsored by Nine Seven Nine;
• Cutest for $125, sponsored by Jill Garrett Photography;
• Honorable Mention for $100, sponsored by Brenham Charcuterie Shop.

Online registration opens on Monday at www.downtownbrenham.com/scarecrows and continues through September 12^th.  All individuals, schools, clubs and organizations are welcome to participate. 

Scarecrows can be set up starting on September 25^th and must be in downtown by September 29^th at 6 p.m. 

Voting will run from October 1-23, and the winners will be announced on October 27^th.
