BURTON HIGH SCHOOL WINS $5,000 IN T-MOBILE SWEEPSTAKES
Burton High School has been selected as the winner of a $5,000 award through T-Mobile’s “Friday Night 5G Lights” sweepstakes.

Schools across the country have applied for the contest, which celebrates small-town high school football while helping provide deserving schools with technology upgrades. A total of 450 $5,000 winners will be recognized over the course of eight weeks, through September 19th.
Burton High School has the opportunity to win more than $5,000, though. Twenty-five schools will be selected in late September as top finalists and will automatically win $25,000, to be presented at a home football game between September 25th and October 24th.
Those top 25 finalists will compete for the grand prize of $1 million toward a football field upgrade, as well as a consultation with a stadium experience expert, a weight room upgrade by Gronk Fitness, a tailgate party in 2026 and an all-expense-paid trip for school representatives to the SEC Championship game on December 6th in Atlanta, Georgia. The grand prize winner will be announced on October 30th.
To help Burton ISD’s chances of winning, the public can share social media content from Instagram or X (formerly Twitter) using the hashtags #FN5GL and #Sweepstakes, while also tagging @TMobile and the school’s official handle.
The community can also get involved by encouraging parent-teacher organizations, booster clubs, student council representatives and local leaders to post and rally support on social media, highlighting school spirit, creativity and community pride. The more the community engages, the better Burton ISD’s chances.
