TWO HOUSTON SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN AUSTIN COUNTY

The Austin County Sheriff’s Office joined with the Houston Police Department in arresting two suspects wanted on multiple charges.
The Houston Police Department’s Major Offenders Division contacted the Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday and requested assistance from their Special Investigations Unit.
The HPD Criminal Investigations Team was attempting to locate two suspects believed to be in the Austin County Area.
A Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit located and stopped the suspects, who were traveling east on I-10 near Mile Marker 724 in Sealy.
The driver was identified as 36-year-old Thaddius Goins of Houston, and the passenger was identified as 35-year-old Rataski Goins of Houston.
The pair are suspects in multiple “juggings” that occurred in the Houston, Austin, and San Antonio areas.
“Juggings” refers to a crime in which suspects watch for individuals withdrawing large amounts of cash from a bank or ATM, then follow them to another location to steal the money—either by breaking into their vehicle, or through direct robbery.
A Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper assisted with the traffic stop and to help take the suspects into custody.
As a result of the traffic stop, both individuals were arrested and charged with:
- Four counts of Unlawful Use of a Criminal Instrument
- Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information
The defendants were transported and booked into the Austin County Jail in Bellville without incident. The investigation remains ongoing, with additional charges possible.
