Betty Hafner, who ran Silver Wings Ballroom for decades along with her husband, Jimbo, passed away on Tuesday.

Betty and Jimbo purchased Silver Wings from Jimbo’s parents, Rudy and Alice Hafner, in 1989.  For many years, the business has served as a skating rink, a dance hall and a destination for numerous other events.  Betty was also involved with a number of local organizations.

Silver Wings announced Betty’s passing in a social media post on Tuesday, saying, “From tickets to the snack bar to checking in parties, she was 1/2 the heartbeat of the rink.”  They added that she “knew life was meant to be shared” and that she leaves behind a legacy of “faith, family, Aggie/Packers football, music, laughter, and skating.”

Funeral arrangements are pending.
