CALLS FOR GRASS FIRE, VEHICLE FIRE AMONG FOUR RESPONSES FOR BRENHAM FD WEDNESDAY

The Brenham Fire Department was called out four times on Wednesday.

Just before 10:45 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to West Germania Street and South Austin Street for a report of a transportation incident.  They arrived to find a two-vehicle accident with no one hurt.  Once the roadway was back open, the department returned to service.

Around 12:30 p.m., units were called out for a report of a grass fire in the 7000 block of FM 2621.  The Brenham Fire Department made location to find the Meyersville, Gay Hill and Prairie Hill Volunteer Fire Departments already on location extinguishing the fire.  Brenham units assisted with putting out the fire before clearing the call.

Shortly after 1:15 p.m., BFD members received a report of a structure fire in the 3200 block of Bluebonnet Boulevard.  While they were enroute, the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department arrived and cancelled the Brenham department’s response.

At 11:15 p.m., a vehicle fire was called in from the 2800 block of Old Masonic Road.  Upon arrival, firefighters found no flames, but they did discover light smoke coming from the bed of a truck.  They used a water extinguisher to put out the hot spots on the back of the truck.
