JIM CHISOLM ANNOUNCES BID FOR WASHINGTON CO. PRECINCT 2 COMMISSIONER

  

A Chappell Hill business owner and former United States Air Force officer is running for Washington County Commissioner of Precinct 2.

Jim Chisolm has announced his intent to seek the Republican nomination for the commissioner seat held by Candice Bullock, who will not be vying for another term in office

Jim and his wife, Susan, own and operate Texas Star Winery.  Over his career, he has been a CEO of several healthcare organizations, including his own that he formed in 2000, Peregrine Healthcare LLC, which he has since sold to his partners. 

Chisolm served as a consultant for numerous healthcare companies across Texas and the nation, providing guidance on operational and financial management, strategic planning and contracting.  He has been involved in the process of several multi-million-dollar mergers and acquisitions, and he has extensive experience in hospital operations, health plan management, insurance, physician practice management, marketing, revenue cycle, and staff development.

Chisolm thanks Commissioner Bullock for her service and says he wants to use his business experience and problem-solving skills to plan for the future.  He says his focus will be on adopting a fiscally conservative budget and tax rate to reflect the values of the community, maintaining open and transparent communication with residents, and ensuring that every county department operates efficiently.  He says he plans to hold listening sessions with voters in the coming weeks, adding, “We must plan strategically to preserve our resources, strengthen our economy, and maintain the quality of life that makes this community so special.”

Chisolm earned his Doctor of Business Administration with honors from Northcentral University in 2022, an MBA from the University of Dallas in 1984, and a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University in 1981.  He served in the United States Air Force from 2001 to 2012 as a Major in the Medical Services Corps, 433rd Medical Squadron, 433rd Airlift Wing at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio and the 944th Medical Squadron, Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona as the Squadron Executive Officer.  His honors include the Department of Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Silver Hourglass.  He holds the rank of Colonel - Commemorative Air Force, life member.

Chisolm is a Master Mason with Hebert Lodge #67 in Chappell Hill and a past board member of the Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce and the Washington County Chamber of Commerce.  He is also a former board member of the Washington County Boys and Girls Club and now is on their Advisory Committee.  In addition, he served on the Hotel Occupancy Tax Grant Board for the county.
