HEARNE MAN RECEIVES TWO LIFE SENTENCES FOR DOUBLE HOMICIDE IN BRYAN
A Hearne man has pleaded guilty and received two life sentences in prison on two counts of murder in Brazos County court.
33-year-old Jalen Bloom was sentenced on Wednesday for the September 4, 2022 shooting deaths of 24-year-old Theron Daniel of College Station and 25-year-old Sabrina Lombardini-Garcia of Austin.
The victims’ bodies were discovered along with a toddler in a vehicle that crashed on Silver Hill Road in Bryan. Authorities found the two adults unconscious with gunshot wounds and the toddler with injuries, and all three occupants were covered in blood.
Investigators with the Bryan Police Department discovered multiple bullet holes in the vehicle and recovered shell casings. Both victims’ cell phones were found bent and broken inside a dumpster, and communications on the phones identified Bloom as a suspect.
Bloom was arrested by College Station police on September 5, 2022 after crashing a vehicle into a local business. Traffic camera footage indicated the same vehicle was being driven to and from the scene of the murder and the dumpster where the cell phones were recovered.
Brazos County Assistant District Attorneys Jessica Escue, Tiffany Larsen and Ryan Golden said, “The defendant’s choice to senselessly take the lives of two young parents is deserving of this harsh punishment. While nothing can bring back what he has taken, we hope that this sentence provides some measure of comfort to the victims’ families.”
