BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD APPROVES EXTENSION OF SUPT. GILLENTINE’S CONTRACT
Brenham ISD trustees voted unanimously after an executive session on Tuesday to extend the contract of Superintendent Clay Gillentine.

one-year contract extension by the Brenham School
Board on Tuesday.
The extension is for one year, meaning Gillentine’s contract now runs through March 30, 2029.
Gillentine joined Brenham ISD in 2021 as assistant superintendent for administrative services. He was selected as acting superintendent in October 2023, following the departure of Dr. Tylor Chaplin, and was officially named superintendent in March 2024.
Per Brenham ISD Chief Communications and Engagement Officer Brooke Trahan, Gillentine’s contract extension did not include a change in salary. Gillentine was originally hired at an annual salary of $185,000.
