BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE TO PERFORM ‘THE LIGHTNING THIEF’ BEGINNING THURSDAY

Brenham High School Cub Company opens performances tonight (Thursday) for an adaptation of a well-known children’s fantasy novel.

“The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical”, plays today through Sunday at the Brenham High School auditorium.

“The Lightning Thief”, the first installment in Rick Riordan’s “Percy Jackson & The Olympians” series, follows Percy Jackson as he learns of his familial connection to the Greek god, Poseidon.  He discovers great powers while attending Camp Half-Blood, a sanctuary for demigod children, and is ultimately tasked with recovering the Master Bolt of Zeus.

Noble Pharaon, Michaela Millard and Logan Rivas, who star as Grover Underwood, Annabeth Chase and Percy Jackson, respectively, say they have focused on adding personal touches to their characters to make them more authentic and bring them to life.

The three say audiences can expect strong characters, humor and action for an entertaining and engaging show.

Performances are 7 p.m. tonight and tomorrow (Friday), 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
