The first call came in around 11:30 a.m., when units were dispatched to a reported transportation incident with entrapment at the Highway 290 cloverleaf. They found an 18-wheel tractor-trailer on its side, with the driver already out. Firefighters plugged the right saddle tank that was leaking fuel. After stopping the fuel leak, they stood by until the tractor trailer was removed from the roadway. The driver was checked out by EMS.
Close to 5:30 p.m., the department was called out to the 300 block of Highway 290 West, where it found a two-vehicle accident that had pulled into a parking lot. BFD members found no one injured and no fluids leaking, so they returned to service.
Just shy of 8:45 p.m., firefighters responded to the 2200 block of Highway 290 West, where they found a single-vehicle accident. No one was hurt, and once the vehicle was removed from the roadway, the fire department cleared the call.
