CUBETTE SOFTBALL DROPS SEASON FINALE TO LAKE CREEK 4-1
The Brenham Cubette Softball Team wrapped up the 2026 season with a 4-1 loss to Lake Creek. on Senior Night at Alumni Field. Prior to the game, the Cubettes recognized their three seniors, who were playing their final game in a Brenham uniform: McKenzie Tiemann, Kylie Baker, and Kate Martin.
Lake Creek, who had already clinched the District 17-5A Championship, struck first with three runs in the top of the first inning off of Baker. Annelise Torres hit a two-run single that scored Madalyn Davis and Braidee Gossett with the first two runs of the game, and then came home herself on a wild pitch.
Brenham got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third inning. Sandra Prieto reach on an error, and then came around to score on an RBI double by McKenzie Tiemann. That cut the Lady Lions' lead to 3-1.
Lake Creek got the run back in the top of the fifth inning. Madalyn Davis reach on an error, and later came home on an RBI groundout by Abby Estay to give Lake Creek a 4-1 lead, which ended up being the final score.
Kylie Baker went the distance allowing four runs, due to the errors, only one of those was earned.
The Cubettes finish the season with an 11-16 record. They were 4-8 in district play.
