AUSTIN COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTY UNDERGOES S.W.A.T. TRAINING
An Austin County Sheriff’s Deputy added to his resume by recently completing Special Weapons And Tactics, or S.W.A.T. training.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Johari Brown recently graduated the Houston Police Department’s Basic SWAT school.
The course was focused on understanding of SWAT operations, including:
SWAT history, selection/retention, equipment, liability issues, physical fitness/wellness, weapons training, intelligence gathering, mission planning, rapid deployment/rescue, barricaded persons, high risk warrants, less-than-lethal applications, noise flash diversionary devices and chemical agents.
In a post on their Facebook page, the Sheriff’s Office said that the week-long course was extremely physical, and mentally taxing.
They added that the team is proud to have Deputy Brown as a member and they know he will do great.
