BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO FIVE CALLS ON WEDNESDAY
The Brenham Fire Department responded to five calls during the day on Wednesday.
BFD personnel were dispatched just before 7:45am to a report of a powerline down at East Germania Street and South Market Street. Firefighters made the location to find that it wasn’t powerline that was down, but an internet cable instead. The cable was tightened back up and BFD returned to service.
The Brenham Fire Department next responded to a reported vehicle fire at 1906 South Day Street just after 11AM. BFD made the location and found no vehicle fire. The vehicle in question was having engine issues.
Next, BFD units were dispatched to a fluid spill at Hwy 290 West and Hwy 36 North at 11:30AM. Firefighters made the location to find a diesel spill on Hwy 290. The scene was turned over to TXDOT.
The Brenham Fire Department along with the Salem Volunteer Fire Department responded to a possible structure fire at 4140 Crestview Lane around 4:15 PM. Units from both departments made the location, but found no fire. BFD was released by Salem VFD and returned to service.
The final call came in just after 6pm. BFD units responded to a fire alarm at 4001 Hwy 36 South. Firefighters made the location to find out it was a false alarm.
