WASHINGTON CO. APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING, VOTE ON BUDGET

The Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors will meet tomorrow (Tuesday) for a public hearing and vote on the appraisal district’s 2026-27 budget.

The proposed budget for the new fiscal year balances at $1,978,960, an increase of $75,350 from the existing budget.

The board’s vote on the budget will come after a budget workshop, if needed.

Later in the meeting, board members will consider an amendment to the board of directors policy manual, which adds a records management policy and the requirement to sign an acknowledgement of director’s duties prior to the appointment of members to serve on the board.  They will also act on a change to the district’s method of financing, possibly shifting from invoicing budget allocations monthly to quarterly.

The board will meet tomorrow at 10 a.m. in the appraisal district office in Brenham, 1301 Niebuhr Street.
