SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES WARRANT ARRESTS FOR THEFT, FRAUD, ASSAULT

  

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported two arrests between Tuesday and early this (Wednesday) morning.

Approaching 11 a.m. Tuesday, deputies executed a warrant service in the 500 block of South Brazos Street.  48-year-old Amy Denise Daniels of Burton was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Washington County Jail.  She has been charged with Theft of Property Less Than $2,500 with Two or More Previous Convictions; Fraudulent Possession/Use of Identifying Information, Under 5 Items; and Fraudulent Possession/Use of a Credit/Debit Card, Under 5 Items.

Close to 2:45 a.m. today, Sergeant Adam Zavala conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of Highway 290 East for failure to dim headlights.  Upon making contact, the sheriff’s office detected an odor of marijuana and reported the seizure of marijuana during a search.  A passenger was found to have an active warrant in Wiliamson County.  26-year-old Marquice Kyheem-Jamal Batten of Austin was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for Assault Causing Bodily Injury.  The sheriff’s office said no charges for marijuana possession have been filed at this time.
