CITY OF BRENHAM BEGINNING TREE TRIMMING WORK FRIDAY

The City of Brenham is starting routine tree trimming today (Friday) along city-owned electrical distribution infrastructure.

The city is contracting with Vegetation Management Services and will have crews working on the south side of town.

Work will occur in and around the following streets, as well as surrounding neighborhoods:

  • Airline Drive
  • Hillcrest Street
  • South Day Street
  • South Austin Street
  • Lynne Way
  • Progress Drive
  • Valley Drive
  • Stone Hollow Drive

The city says vegetation will be trimmed to maintain approximately 10 feet of clearance from electrical infrastructure, in order to help reduce power outages, maintain reliable electric service and improve system safety.  The routine trimming also supports healthier tree growth.

Residents are encouraged to use caution when driving near active work zones and to follow any temporary traffic adjustments or posted signage.

Anyone with questions can contact City of Brenham Public Utilities at 979-337-7400.
