EARLY VOTING DATES & HOURS SET FOR BURTON CITY COUNCIL RUNOFF ELECTION
Early voting dates and times have been announced for the Burton City Council runoff election to decide the outcome of two council races that tied in the first election.
The runoff for Positions #2 and #5 will have early voting starting on Monday, June 1st through Friday, June 5th, with a break over the weekend. Early voting will resume on Monday, June 8th and end on Tuesday, June 9th.
Burton City Hall will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. during early voting and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 13th for Election Day.
The May 2nd election ended with a tie between incumbent Tommie Gilmon and challenger Sheila Ripple for Position #2, as well as Position #5 incumbent Macey Tidwell and challenger Berneake Gantt. The council ordered the runoff election during its May meeting.
