SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES ARRESTS FOR CHILD SEX ASSAULT, DWI
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported two arrests on Friday, one for driving while intoxicated and another for child sexual assault.
Around 2 a.m., Sergeant Adam Zavala responded to the vicinity of Highway 290 and Briar Creek Road in regards to an aggressive driver. The suspect vehicle was located and the driver was taken into custody after a field sobriety test was conducted. 29-year-old Brandon Armando Morga Gomez of Houston was transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and No Driver’s License.
At 12:30 p.m., deputies conducted a felony stop in the 500 block of Old Navasota Road on a suspect with active warrants out of Washington County. 25-year-old Ronald Eugene Hopes III of Brenham was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Washington County Jail for seven counts of Sexual Assault of a Child. Online jail records show his bond is set at $1.75 million.
