BRENHAM FD RESPONDS SATURDAY FOR ACCIDENT, CHILD LOCKED IN VEHICLE

The Brenham Fire Department was called out three times on Saturday.

Just after 12:15 p.m., firefighters responded to a transportation incident at Highway 36 South and FM 109.  They made location to find a two-vehicle accident with no injuries and no fluids leaking.  After both vehicles left the scene, the department returned to service.

At 3:30 p.m., BFD members received a report of a child locked inside a vehicle in the 5400 block of Wiedeville Church Road.  The Brenham Fire Department and Meyersville Volunteer Fire Department arrived to find a two-year-old child locked inside the vehicle.  The vehicle was unlocked, and EMS checked out the child, who was released back to the parents.

At about the same time, units were dispatched to a fire alarm at Super 8 by Wyndham, 2209 Highway 290 East.  Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building.  They found that the alarm was caused by contractors replacing some tiles.  The alarm was reset.
