BELLVILLE POLICE WARNING OF A FACEBOOK SCAM

  

Bellville Police are warning residents of a Facebook scam targeting food vendors, local businesses, and live entertainment.

There is a flyer on Facebook advertising food trucks, vendors, and live entertainment are being sought for a series of upcoming events at the Austin County Fairgrounds in Bellville.

On-line posts describe the events as “a vibrant, high-energy community festival” being scheduled for three-day periods each month from June to December.

According to Bellville Police, no events of that type are planned for the fairgrounds, nor have they been contacted in regards to using the fairgrounds for these types of events.

Police advise that before you send any money to any one, get concrete proof that the events are being held.

Do not just go by a post on Facebook asking for your money.
