BRENHAM PD MAKES ARRESTS FOR CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE WARRANT, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, DRIVING WITH INVALID LICENSE
Brenham police reported three arrests between Monday and early this (Tuesday) morning.
At 9:30 p.m. Monday, Officer Eric Crosby conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation in the 2200 block of Highway 290 East. During the investigation, police reported that the driver, 28-year-old Beehendra Nelms of Prairie View, was in possession of marijuana and a firearm. They also determined that she had two active warrants out of Brenham Municipal Court for Displaying Expired Registration and Driving While License Invalid. Nelms was taken into custody for the two outstanding warrants, Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz., and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
At 2:30 a.m. today, Officer Crosby was conducting close patrol in the 800 block of Highway 290 East when he observed a vehicle parked in the lot of several closed businesses. Further investigation revealed that the driver, 48-year-old Renae Cunningham of Caldwell, had an active warrant out of Grimes County for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, 1-4 Grams. Cunningham was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Washington County Jail.
At 3:45 a.m., Officer Crosby conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle violation near the intersection of Highway 290 East and Cantey Street. During the investigation, police determined that the driver was operating a motor vehicle while his driver’s license was invalid and with no insurance. As a result, 32-year-old Omar Gomez of Houston was taken into custody for Driving While License Invalid Enhanced and Expired Registration. Gomez was taken to the Washington County Jail and booked without incident.
