Camp For All in Washington County has achieved a momentous milestone.

Representatives, volunteers and supporters of the organization came together today (Monday) to celebrate Camp For All’s 200,000th camper served at its barrier-free campsite in Burton.  The camp was presented honorary proclamations by the Burton City Council and State House District 12 Representative Trey Wharton.

Chief Operating Officer Brian Frazier said since opening in 1998, Camp For All has been a gamechanger for those with challenging illnesses, disabilities or special needs.

Dr. Paul Gerson and Larry Neuhaus, two of the founders of Camp For All, said they knew this could not be any ordinary camp, as they wanted it to provide a unique and amazing experience for everyone, including the campers and their families.

President and CEO Pat Prior Sorrells said the backing shown by Washington County and all of the camp’s supporters has made this day possible and helped change the lives of thousands of campers each year.

Sorrells said Camp For All will be able to double the number of campers it serves with its new campsite in Chappell Hill, which is scheduled to open next summer.
