GAS PRICES DROPPING FOR FOURTH OF JULY
Gas prices are trending downward for the Fourth of July weekend.
According to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch, the statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $3.34. The price is 2 cents less than this time last week and 43 cents cheaper than a month ago, but it is 61 cents more expensive than last year at this time.
The average price at reporting gas stations in Brenham is $3.42, with a low of $3.20 and a high of $3.80.
Surveying Texas’ metropolitan areas, drivers in El Paso are paying the most on average per gallon at $3.60. Meanwhile, drivers in Laredo are spending the least at $3.16.
Nationwide, the average fuel cost per gallon is $3.83, which is 8 cents less than last week and 46 cents less than last month, but 66 cents more than a year ago.
