FAYETTE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATES HAY BALER FIRE
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office investigated a hay baler fire that occurred on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Sheriff Keith Korenek, the 9-1-1 dispatch received a call just after 4pm reporting the hay baler fire on FM 155 near Mullins Prairie.
The La Grange Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene along with Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy Wesley Arrison.
Upon arrival, La Grange Firefighters found a New Holland 688 hay baler with heavy fire damage.
The fire was quickly contained, and there were no reported injuries.
After investigation, the Sheriff’s Office said the cause of the fire is believed to be from bearings that overheated.
