WASHINGTON CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE TO HOST CITIZEN’S DEPUTY ACADEMY

  

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is offering an opportunity to learn more about local law enforcement.

The sheriff’s office is now accepting applications for the Citizen’s Deputy Academy, a free, 10-week program that teaches about the various aspects of law enforcement in the county, provides the ability to meet first responders and see the work they do. 

Topics covered in the program will include patrol operations, traffic stops, criminal investigations, SWAT Team and jail operations.  It will also feature orientation to agencies like DPS, emergency management, fire and EMS.

The program will run Tuesday nights from 6 to 9 p.m., starting on September 1st.

Applications are due to the sheriff’s office by Monday, July 20th.  Space is limited.
